A fixed-rate mortgage is a type of home loan in which the interest rate remains the same throughout the entire life of the loan, as opposed to an adjustable-rate mortgage, where the interest rate can fluctuate over time. This provides more stability for the borrower, but could potentially be more expensive if interest rates drop after the loan is taken out.
